To provide an electronic endoscope apparatus which can properly use two or more kinds of electronic endoscopes loaded with the CCDs of different color acquisition methods and always output a high-quality image at a monitor regardless of the difference of the color acquisition method.
The standard image production unit 411 of a processor produces a standard image in which the true colors of an observation object are faithfully reproduced from the image acquired by an endoscope by using a replacement table. A color replacement unit 412, a brightness/saturation adjustment unit 413, a sharpness adjustment unit 414 and a hue adjustment unit 415 selectively perform an image processing for producing the image matched with an examination purpose with the standard image as an object. Setting information which regulates the contents of the image processing such as the specification of a processing unit to be made to perform the processing or the specification of data to be used for the processing is stored for each purpose of an endoscope examination and is supplied from a microcomputer 42 to an image processing circuit 41 when processing execution. The image processing circuit 41 executes the image processing on the basis of the supplied information.
