PURPOSE: To prevent an opening/closing lid at the feeding port of a recording medium carelessly being opened in an electronic equipment utilizing an external recording medium such as a video tape or a floppy disk.
CONSTITUTION: The opening/closing lid 21 is closed by the pressing force of a helical spring 23 and locked by a locking plate 24 so that the cover is not opened corelessly. When a video tape T is inserted, the insertion is detected by a cassette detecting means in front of the opening/closing lid 21, the locking plate 24 is lowered by rotating a driving motor for the locking plate 29 and the opening/closing lid is enabled to open. When the video tape is inserted successively, the video tape is automatically loaded and set at a prescribed position. Then, a switch for detecting a set condition 37 is turned on, the driving motor for the locking plate 29 rotates so that the locking plate 24 is lifted and the opening/closing lid 21 is in the locking condition. Thus, it is prevented that the opening/closing lid 21 is carelessly opened and a foreign matter is intruded into the inside.
