Title:
ELECTRONIC STILL CAMERA
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0258981
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To execute photographing by a camera operator without paying attention to exposure time whenever the operator heightens sensitivity by automatically shifting the longest exposure time of a solid-state image pickup element (CCD) to a high speed side for the 1/k-fold of the longest exposure time when the operator heightens sensitivity into (k)-fold sensitivity. CONSTITUTION:When the gain of the signal amplitude of an electric signal processing circuit 16 reaches the (k)-fold gain of the original gain, the longest exposure time of a CCD11 is automatically made into the 1/k-fold longest exposure time of the original longest exposure time. Consequently, when sensitivity is made into double, the exposure time having an S/N, which is the same as another S/N in the longest exposure time with standard sensitivity (one-fold), can be made into the longest exposure time with (k)-fold sensitivity by making the longest exposure time into the 1/k-fold longest exposure time. Further, a sensitivity heightening switch 2 selects sensitivity S0 when the switch 2 is off and selects sensitivity 2S0 which is the double sensitivity of S0 when the switch 2 is on, respectively, and is interlocked with an analog switch 3. Thus, the operator of the title electronic still camera can execute photographing without paying attention to the deterioration of the S/N caused by the heightening of sensitivity.
