To provide an electronic timepiece with a chronograph function having a miniaturized movement size and stable chronograph operation.
The section of a working cam 140 is laminated so as to have at least two hierarchies having different plane shapes, and the section of the working cam 140 is decomposed into three layers, namely, an upper layer, a middle layer and a lower layer. A start-and-stop operation transfer member 152 and a working cam jumper 151 are arranged on the lower layer 141 of the working cam 140. A state detection member 160 of a safety mechanism for detecting the starting state of a chronograph pointer and preventing flyback operation caused by wrong operation of a flyback operation member is arranged on the middle layer 142 of the working cam 140. A primary position setting member 155 of a flyback mechanism for moving the flyback mechanism to a waiting position and a chronograph gear train stopping member 154 for stopping temporarily a part of a chronograph gear train are arranged on the upper layer 143 of the working cam 140.
