PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic image forming apparatus configured to prevent a banding image from being formed due to slipping that occurs at the time of contact rotation between an electrophotographic photoreceptor and a charging member.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a photoreceptor; charging means which comes into contact with the photoreceptor, to charge the photoreceptor with a charging member; and developing means which supplies toner to the photoreceptor with an electrostatic latent image formed thereon, to form a toner image on the photoreceptor. A charge transport later in an electrophotographic photoreceptor having the charge transport layer as a surface layer, includes a matrix-domain structure formed from specific resin. A surface of the charging member includes a recess which is an opening of a bowl-shaped resin particle, and a projection which is an opening edge of the bowl-shaped resin particle. In the projection, at least the resin particle is exposed to the surface. The exposed resin particle comes into contact with the electrophotographic photoreceptor.
