Abstract:
To provide an emergency braking system for a driving system.SOLUTION: A system comprises: a converter operably connected to an AC power and a DC bus; an inverter operably connected to a motor and the DC bus; and a controller. The converter includes a plurality of first switching devices that is selectively communicated with each phase of the AC power and the DC bus. The inverter includes a plurality of second switching devices that is selectively communicated with each phase of the motor and the DC bus. The controller issues a command of dropping of a brake through a passive delay circuit in response to an emergency stop condition for a load driven by the motor, and a voltage is reduced on the DC bus by using a dynamic braking resister before at least one phase of the AC power is fallen and/or the brake is physically fallen.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
