Title:
EMPTY CAN SORTING APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH067703
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To sort empty cans made of materials such as aluminum, glass, plastics, etc., which a magnet does not attract.

CONSTITUTION: An empty can sorting apparatus is provided with an inducing electrode part 1 and as a recovery means, for example, a pushing out rod 7 and is composed of a transporting apparatus 5 and a throwing apparatus 3. The apparatus utilizes a phenomenon that electric current runs in a conductor and the conductor starts motion to an electrode when an electric conductor such as aluminum is hung and an electromagnetic field is applied to the conductor from the electrode in non-contact way. In other words, when a container made of a conductor such as aluminum is introduced into the inducing electrode part 1, motion such as vibration, rotation, etc., begins in the inner part of the inducing electrode part 1. In the case of the container made of an electric insulator, induced current does not run and thus no motion occurs in the inside of the inducing electrode part 1. Consequently, utilizing the motion, plastics and glass, which are an electric insulator, and aluminum, which is a conductor, are effectively sorted.
