Title:
EPOXY RESIN HAVING ACETYLENIC PENDANT GROUP
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04130127
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a nonvolatile self-curing epoxy resin which can be cured without forming any product of elimination and which has a plurality of acetylenic pendant groups having different mechanisms of curing reaction and terminal epoxy groups. CONSTITUTION:A compound having acetylenic pendant groups and represented by formula I (wherein R<1> and R<2> which are independent of each other are each H, a triple bond-free hydrocarbon group; R is a bivalent organic group derived by removing hydroxyl groups from a dihydric phenol, a bisphenol, an alkylene glycol or a polyetherdiol; and (n) is an integer up to 20) is used as a nonvolatile self-curing epoxy resin useful for coating materials and electrical and electronic apparatuses. The resin of formula I is produced by the chain-extension of a diglycidyl ether compound of formula II by reaction with a dihydroxy compound.
