To realize a new escapement called an impulse wheel escapement theoretically very simple, allowing operation of only circular members of axially symmetrical wheels and pinions, a moment of force, a peripheral speed and inertia.
This escapement 10 includes a first wheel 6 and a second wheel 7 meshing with each other. One of the wheels 6, 7 is driven by a train of gears. A first roller 9 and a second roller 11 mounted on a common shaft 1 support a balance. The wheels 6, 7 and the first roller 9 have means allowing the first roller 9 to receive direct impulses alternately applied by the first and second wheels 6, 7 for the purpose of maintaining oscillation of the balance. The second roller 11 has a means for driving a swing member add a lock for alternately locking the first and second wheels 6, 7.
