Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a new estrane derivative useful as a synthetic intermediate, etc., for steroid compounds having trifluoromethyl group at 13 position.
CONSTITUTION: This compound is expressed by formula I (R1 to R3 each is H or a protecting group of hydroxyl group), e.g. (16R, 17R)-3-acetyloxy-16- benzoyloxy-17-benzoyloxymethyl-18,18,18-trifluoro-1,3,5 (10)-estratriene. Furthermore, the compound of formula I is obtained by cyclizing a diketone derivative of formula II (R4 and R5 each is H or a protecting group of hydroxyl group), aromatizing the resultant cyclic compound and as necessary, carrying out protection or deprotection of hydroxyl group.
