PURPOSE: To mix a liquid Freon stagnated in the bottom part of a lower header for an evaporator with an oil satisfactorily, by diffusing the liquid Freon.
CONSTITUTION: As a means for te satisfactory mixing of the Freon stagnated at the bottom part of the lower header 2 of the evaporator and the oil, a detector 9 and a nozzle 7 are provided at a lower part of the header 2, and when the stagnation of the liquid Freon is detected, a gas or a liquid is injected through the nozzle 7 to diffuse the stagnated Freon. As an alternative, the stagnated Freon is extracted from the bottom part of the header 2 and is circulated into an upper header 1. Accordingly, a liquid Freon stagnated in the bottom of the lower header 2 of the evaporator and having a large specific gravity can be diffused and, therefore, the mixing of the oil and the Freon can be accelerated.
