Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust device for an outboard engine capable of preventing an increase in size when an highriser is arranged in the engine having a plurality of serially arranged cylinders.
SOLUTION: In an exhaust device 42 for an outboard engine 6 where a plurality of cylinders are serially arranged on a straight line in parallel with a crankshaft and the crankshaft is vertically arranged, an exhaust expansion room A is provided in a side lower than a lower end cylinder, the lower end opening of an exhaust passage 72 from each cylinder is positioned and a catalyst 73 is arranged in the exhaust expansion room A. One end opening 76a of a highriser 75 composed of a reverse U-shaped cylindrical body is connected to the rough center of the ship cross direction of the exhaust expansion room A, the highriser 75 is arranged such that the other end opening 76b is displaced in one side of the ship cross direction, the upper end of an exhaust pipe 71 extended downward is connected to the other end opening 76b and the lower end of the exhaust pipe 71 is opened in water.
