Abstract:
To provide an expression inhibitor of a scavenger receptor, hardly providing side effects because of being originated from a plant, and enabling long-term administration.
The expression inhibitor of the scavenger receptor in a macrophage contains an isothiocyanate compound originated from a cruciferous plant especially Brassica rapa L., and/or a glucosinolate thereof. The prophylactic and therapeutic agent of atherosclerosis based on both of the expression-inhibiting activity of the scavenger receptor and the expression-inhibiting activity of monocytic adhesive molecule, and the medicine and the food and drink prepared by formulating the agent are also provided.
