Abstract:
To provide a female terminal with a novel structure, achieving a reduction in insertion force and an easiness in work while ensuring large contact pressure between male and female terminals and also capable of suppressing variations in contact pressure.SOLUTION: A female terminal includes: a female terminal fitting 16; a male terminal insertion tubular part 26 into which a male terminal 12 is pushed, and of which the inner surface 28 constitutes a connection part 14; a pair of overlapping plate parts 25a, 25b which are connected to a pair of first separated sections 29, 29 provided by separating one circumferential portion of the male terminal insertion tubular part 26, and which are spaced apart from each other and protrude outward; and biasing means 50 which biases the pair of overlapping plates 25a, 25b in a direction that causes the overlapping plates to overlap mutually, thereby keeping the male terminal insertion tubular part 26 in a reduced diameter state. When the male terminal 12 is pushed into the male terminal insertion tubular part 26, the male terminal insertion tubular part 26 is elastically deformed in a diameter expanding direction against biasing force, thus allowing the male terminal 12 to be pushed into the male terminal insertion tubular part 26.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
