To provide a female type electric contact member with strong mechanism characteristics, excellent conductivity and manufacturable at a low cost.

This electric contact member has a main body 1 equipped at its one end with a pair of first caulking ear pieces 2 to be adhered to a conductor with an insulating coating body and another pair of second caulking ear pieces 3 to be caulked to an end of a bare lead wire of the conductor, and is, at its another end, equipped with a bushing 20 with its free end opened so as to store a male type electric contact member. An elastic clamp is formed on a ring 10 stored in the bushing. The ring is attached to one end of a flexible braided conductor 7, and its another end is adhered to the main body by a tongue piece 4 cut out from the main body adjacent to the pair of the second caulking ear pieces. The main body is formed of material such as steel and an inside of a part comprising the tongue piece and the pair of the second ear caulking pieces is coated with a layer 30 of conductive material.
