Abstract:

To provide a polypyrrole-palladium nanocomposite catalyst support material that is separated simply and can be separated and recovered swiftly, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same.

A method for manufacturing a fiber coated with a polypyrrole-palladium nanocomposite comprises: performing a polymerization reaction of pyrrole in the presence of fibers using a palladium complex as a polymerization oxidizing agent; and causing palladium, generated by the reduction of the palladium complex, to be supported on the polypyrrole generated by the polymerization in one step to obtain a polypyrrole-palladium nanocomposite and simultaneously coating the fiber with the polypyrrole-palladium nanocomposite. There is also provided a fiber coated with the polypyrrole-palladium nanocomposite manufactured by the manufacturing method.
