Abstract:
To provide a fiber material for liquid absorbents excellent in absorbing performance and holding property of an aqueous medium such as an ink and a body fluid, feeding property to a head, reduction of residual liquid quantity, productivity, quality stability, etc.
The fiber for the liquid absorbing fiber material is produced by melt-spinning, drawing, crimping and cutting of a thermoplastic resin comprising a polyolefin resin or a polyester resin, provided that the fiber has a crimping ratio of 5-80% and a crimp number of 2-75 /inch before cutting the fiber, and a fiber length of 0.1-30 mm after cutting the fiber, and the filled fiber has a Young's modulus of 0.02-0.17 MPa and a recovery ratio of 0.10-0.57.
