To provide a fiber reinforced thermoplastic sheet not clogging a crosshead die or not broken at the time of extrusion coating in the crosshead die.
The fiber reinforced thermoplastic sheet is constituted by bonding and laminating mixed fiber mats 1b comprising reinforcing fibers and thermoplastic resin fibers to both surfaces of reinforcing fiber cloth 10a under heating and pressure. The fiber reinforced thermoplastic sheet is manufacture by a process wherein the mixed fiber mat 1b is continuously formed while the reinforcing fibers and the thermoplastic resin fibers are mixed and the reinforcing fiber cloth 10a is longitudinally inserted in the gap between the mats 1b and these mats 1b are bonded under heating and pressure to bond the reinforcing fibers by the molten resin of the thermoplastic resin fibers.
