To obtain the subject film, excellent in resistance to chemicals, sanitation, resistance to heat and gas barrier properties by using a resin which exhibits optical anisotropy while being molten.
This film is of laminated structure, comprising (A) a layer of a liquid-crystalline polyester resin composition exhibiting optical anisotropy, composed of (i) a liquid-crystalline polyester as the continuous phase, preferably at 56.0 to 99.9 wt.%, and (ii) a copolymer as the dispersed phase having a functional group reactive with the liquid-crystalline polyester, obtained by kneading these components after melting them, preferably at 44.0 to 0.1 wt.%, and, preferably, (B) a thermoplastic resin, e.g. polyolefin, polystyrene, polycarbonate, polyester, polyacetal or polyamide, except that exhibiting optical anisotropy while being molten.
