To provide a fire extinguishing device for an elevator pin in which early fire extinguishing in the elevator pit can be securely achieved.
A fire extinguishing plate 10 is disposed to a first evacuation position along one side wall in the elevator pit 1, and a first actuation position to cover a floor surface 1a. A second fire extinguishing plate 13 is disposed to take a first evacuation position along the other side wall in the elevator pit 1, and a second actuation position to cover the first fire extinguishing plate 10 at the first actuation position. The first fire extinguishing plate 10 is held at the first evacuation position by a first lock mechanism 16A, and the second fire extinguishing plate 13 is held at the second evacuation position by a second lock mechanism 16B. Interlocked with actuation of a smoke detector 22 or a heat detector 23, holding by the first lock mechanism 16A is released, the first fire extinguishing plate 10 falls to cover the floor surface 1a, holding by the second lock mechanism 16B is released, and the second fire extinguishing plate 13 falls to cover the first fire extinguishing plate 10.
