Title:
FLAME-RETARDANT ACRYLIC SYNTHETIC FIBER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5789613
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: Flame-retardant acrylic synthetic fiber that is composed of a copolymer mainly consisting of acrylonitrile and halogen-containing monomers and of a small amount of an organotin compound, thus showing good luster and transparency.

CONSTITUTION: The spinning dope is prepared by dissolving an acrylic copolymer composed of (A) 30W70wt% acrylonitrile, (B) 70W30wt% halogen-containing monomers, preferably containing more than 5% vinylidene chloride and (C) 0W10wt% olefinic monomers copolymerizable with components A and B such as acrylic acid in a solvent and by adding to the polymer solution (D) 0.2W3.0wt% organotin compound soluble in the above solvent (such as dibutyltin slufide), based on the resin, and (E) 0.2W20wt% glycidyl methacrylate polymer and extruded through nozzles into the above solvent. Then, drying, heat drawing and heat treatment are carried out to produce the objective fiber.
