To provide a floating connector capable of preventing deterioration of floating performance and moreover capable of enhancing reliability of an electrical connection of a connector.
A lower contact 4 has a board contact part 11a with a circuit board 5 on one end side and has a mutual contact part 11b with an upper contact 3 on the other end side and is arranged fixed on a lower housing 6. The upper contact 3 has an upper contact part 13a with a contact 28 of a counterpart connector 25, on one end side and a mutual contact part 13b with the lower contact 4, on the other end side and is arranged in a free movement on an upper housing 7. A pushing force working on the mutual contact part 13b of the upper contact 3 and the mutual contact part 11b of the lower contact 4 after a floating connector 1 is engaged with the counterpart contact 25, is larger than the pushing force working between the mutual contact part 11b of the upper contact 3 and the mutual contact part 13b of the lower contact 4, before the floating connector 1 is engaged with the counterpart connector 25.
