Abstract:
PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform a work in a stabilized condition by arranging a work platform on a ship body via a vertical column, submerging the ship body portion at the time of petroleum production by filling a ballast tank with water, and floating the ship body portion at the time of navigation by discharging the water. CONSTITUTION:When a work ship arrives at a petroleum production work sea area, a ship body 1 is submerged below a water line WL by filling a ballast tank 4 with ballast water. As a result, a vertical column 2 erected on the ship body 1 becomes a water line portion. Since a work platform 3 is installed at a certain height above the water line WL, the area of the water line portion is small, an under water rolling moment is great, a natural period of rolling is long, and a rolling response in the waves becomes small. As a result, work can be performed in a stabilized condition. Then, when the work ship is to be floated, the ballast water in the ballast tank 4 is discharged to make the ship body 1 float above the water line WL and to reduce a propulsive resistance. Thus, it is possible to perform a work in a stabilized condition and, at the time of moving, to navigate efficiently in a floated condition.
