PURPOSE: To remove fluffs efficiently without damaging the surfaces of cocoons and requiring much labor in fluff removing, by bringing a roll for catching cocoon fluffs on the peripheral surface thereof and winding the fluffs into contact with two rolls for nipping the cocoon fluffs.
CONSTITUTION: A fluff winding roll 4 is supported by a shaft to be in contact with rolls 1 and 2 for nipping cocoon fluffs in a fluff removing machine, and comb teeth 7 for scraping the fluffs are provided near the roll 4 and at the scraping position of the fluffs. The respective rolls are rotated in the direction of arrow, and cocoons 6 are fed above the contact point of the rolls 1 and 2. The fluffs are nipped to advance the cocoons 6. On the removal of the fluffs, the coccons 6 are taken out of the fluff removing machine. The fluffs nippied by the rolls 1 and 2 are wound by the peripheral surface of the roll 4 rotating at a higher speed than those of the rolls 1 and 2 and scraped by the comb teeth 7.
