Abstract:

PURPOSE: A simple and efficient fluff removing machine, containing metallic brushes and artificial turfs around a fluff removing roll for cocoons without using a rubber belt causing elongation, etc., and capable of winding fluffs without damaging the surfaces of the cocoons.

CONSTITUTION: Cocoons 7 are supplied from a cocoon tray 8 to a fluff removing roll 1, pressed to the roll 1 by a cocoon pressing piece 5 and rotated with the roll 1. The fluffs of the cocoons 7 in the state of prevented rotation are then scraped a way by metallic burshes 2 provided around the periphery of the roll 1 in the axial direction of the roll 1 on alternate lines or in the rows of trees. The scraped fluffs are then wound onto the surfaces of artificial turfs 3 provided on the parts other than the metallic brushes in the floated form and then continuously scraped by fluff scraping comb teeth 9.
