To provide an economical fluid pressure generation device capable of obtaining high fluid pressure as needed, without enlarging a fluid pressure generation source, by selecting a proper fluid pressure generation source.
The fluid pressure generation device comprises a hydraulic pump 1, direction switching valves 2a, 2b, and hydraulic cylinders 3a, 3b. A low-pressure hydraulic fluid sent from the hydraulic pump 1 is supplied to the direction switching valves 2a, 2b and the low-pressure hydraulic fluid supplied to the direction switching valves 2a, 2b is supplied to the hydraulic cylinders 3a, 3b. Air-pressure/oil-pressure converting boosters 4a, 4b are provided, each including a mechanism for converting air pressure into oil pressure. In order to supply a high-pressure hydraulic fluid whose pressure is increased by the air-pressure/oil-pressure converting boosters 4a, 4b to a first hydraulic fluid supply passage from the direction switching valves 2a, 2b to the hydraulic cylinders 3a, 3b, second hydraulic fluid supply passages 24, 25 are provided from the air-pressure/oil-pressure converting boosters 4a, 4b to the first hydraulic fluid supply passage.
