CONSTITUTION: A variable resistor Rv of the strobe emission timing control unit is mounted to the inside surface of a front cover body 11 which is oscillatably born to the front of the camera bldy 10. In addition, the slide contact piece (a) of the variable resistor Rv is mounted to a rotating plate 15 which is born to said inside surface. Then, when a lens board 13 is localized to the photographing position by opening the front cover body 11 and the rotating plate 15 is rotated by operating a manual operating knob 16, focusing of the photographic lens 12 may be performed. In addition, the slide contact piece (a) moves and the resistance value of the variable resistor Rv is set according to the focusing, etc. Next, when the strobe device is made operatable by turning ON a strobe charging switch, strobe emission is done at a suitable timing according to the subject distance.
