PURPOSE: To make an ironing stand foldable in a compact form by dividing the board of the stand into front and back sections, jointing both side walls of the divided sections to each other with a pair of jointing pieces, and causing the lower side of one divided section of the board to support the lower side of the other divided section.

CONSTITUTION: A front half board section 2b is jointed to a rear half board section 2a with a pair of jointing pieces 6a and 6b, so as to be freely foldable. When the sections 2a and 2b are not in use, support legs 14 to 16 fitted to the lower side of each of the sections 2a and 2b are folded and, then, the section 2b is turned up and folded down on the section 2a. In this case, both sections 2a and 2b are jointed to each other at the prescribed gap with a pair of the jointing pieces 6a and 6b and, therefore, a cushion material 12 laid on the metal net of both sections 2a and 2b, or a cloth cover 13 concealing the material 12 can be folded without any difficulty. Also, when the sections 2a and 2b are used as an ironing stand, the section 2b is turned and horizontally expanded, and the support legs 14 to 16 are also expanded.
