Abstract:

To provide a forged card discrimination system capable of effectively preventing use of a forged card.

This system is equipped with: an emboss reading part 125c for detecting an embossed pattern of an embossing part formed on the principal surface of a card; a hologram reading part 125d for detecting a hologram formed on the principal surface of the card; a micro-character reading part 125d for detecting micro-characters formed on the principal surface of the card; magnetic code reading parts 125a and 125b for reading magnetic codes formed on the principal surface and the back surface of the card; and a processor 127 for determining whether the card is forged or not based on data detected by the reading parts 125a-125e. The determination result is outputted to an operation server 4; when the processor 127 detects occurrence of abnormality, or when the processor receives function stop request data from the operation server 4, the function of the processor 127 is stopped.
