CONSTITUTION: A condensing pipe 30 and a vortex type heating pipe 40 are arranged in an interior of an evaporating can and a fresh water receiving dish 45 is provided directly below a condensing pipe 30 as well as a convection promoting plate 41 is provided between a side wall of a can and a heating pipe and a shield plate 55 for preventing the splash accompanying is provided to a vapor portion between a heating pipe 40 and a receiving dish 45. By these constitution, the sea water within a can generates are convection shown by an arrow and evaporated from a area almost equal to an area projected to a vertical upper surface of a heating pipe 40. In this case, the boiling evaporation form becomes the splash boiling and the heat conductivity higher than the conventional pool boiling can be obtained. Therefore, the reduction of a conductive area is attained and the miniaturization of an apparatus is attained.
