To provide a freshness-keeping material capable of suppressing hue change, browning and withering of plants.SOLUTION: There is provided a freshness-keeping material comprising a substrate and a surface layer including at least one kind of sugar selected from the group consisting of monosaccharides and hydrolyzable polysaccharides.
