Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep the profile of a rotor at the initial stage for long time and also, to form a joining part having smooth outward appearance without developing the ruggedness by cooling the rotor during joining with cooling medium.
SOLUTION: The using rotor 1 is the one projecting a pin type probe 3 on the axial center part at the tip part of the columnar rotor body 2. (a) The cooling of this rotor 1 is executed by arranging a nozzle 9 at the outside of the rotor body 2, spouting the cooling medium 10 of the air, liquid nitrogen, etc., from the nozzle 9 during shifting the rotated rotor 1 and injecting to the rotor 1. (b) As the other cooling method, a passage 11 is arranged in the inner part of the rotor body 2 and the cooling medium 10 is introduced therein, and while cooling the rotor 1, the cooling medium is discharged to the outside from the tip part of the rotor body 2. Then, in the case of the aluminum material, when the rotor temp. in the case of using these cooling methods compares with the case of using no these methods, this temp. is lowered by about 100°C and the joining length can drastically be increased.
