Title:
FRONT PART BODY STRUCTURE OF VEHICLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2001030949
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a front part vehicle body structure which can effectively absorb the energy in a head-on collision and the energy in an offset collision without increasing the length of a front part of a vehicle, and ensure the rigidity of the vehicle body.

A front side frame 1 comprises a butt-welded member having a front part formed of a thick plate 1A, an intermediate portion formed of a thin plate 1B and a rear portion formed of a thick plate 1C. A bolt hole to fix a connection part of a bumper lane by bolts is provided in the front thick plate 1A, and a coupling part 3a of a first cross member is also fixed by welding to a side of the front thick plate 1A. The rear thick plate 1C is provided from a part slightly forward of a suspension tower position to a dash panel position to increase the rigidity of a rear half portion of an engine room. The intermediate thin plate 1B is provided between the front thick plate 1A and the rear thick plate 1C, and when an impact load is inputted in the front side frame 1, the intermediate thin plate is positively deformed to absorb the collision energy.
