To provide a fuel-cell power generation system capable of improving power generation efficiency by suppressing an increase in concentration of vapor and carbon dioxide in an anode gas flow direction, and increasing an electromotive force in an anode gas downstream site, and to provide a method for power generation achieved thereby.
This fuel-cell power generation system supplies a mixed gas of a hydrocarbon and vapor and/or carbon dioxide or a reformed gas of the mixed gas with a ratio of oxygen and carbon atoms to be greater than or equal to 2 to an upstream of an anode gas flow, and additionally supplies a hydrocarbon or a mixed gas of hydrocarbon and vapor and/or carbon dioxide with a ratio of oxygen and carbon atoms to be smaller than 2 to a downstream. Thereby, the gas supplied additionally to the downstream is reformed and used for power generation by utilizing the vapor and carbon dioxide produced by electrochemical reaction in the upstream of the anode gas flow.
