PURPOSE: To accurately generate fuel overflow command in spite of a rotational variation so as to reduce fluctuation of torque by measuring a lapse of time from the one step processing switchable position of rotational angle from the present switching position of the rotational angle, and controlling an overflow adjusting means after the lapse of time reaches a specified additional value.
CONSTITUTION: A fuel injection pump M4 is provided with an overflow adjusting means M5 which adjusts fuel supply under pressure by adjusting the overflow of pressurized fuel inside a high pressure chamber M3. A rotational angle signal from a unit rotational angle detection means M7 is used, so as to count an unit rotational angle from a specified standard position to a target overflow timing so that a control may be carried out by a controller which includes an angle deviation calculation means M8 which calculated the rest of angle deviation. In this case, when the target overflow timing is within a specified range from an immediately preceeding rotational angle switching position, in the next and subsequent the processing, a lapse of time from the one step preceding rotational angle switching position from the present rotational angle switching position is calculated by an additional calculation means 13. An overflow control means M14 is provided for performing injection quantity control by driving and controlling an overflow adjusting means M5 after the lapse of time reaches the additional value.
