Abstract:

To provide: a new fullerene derivative having a vinyl ether group and useful as a resin raw material, polymer modifier, protective group, etc.; and a production method thereof.

There are disclosed a fullerene derivative in which a vinyl ether group represented by formula (A) is bonded to a fullerene skeleton directly or via a linking group; and a production method of a fullerene derivative by reacting a compound including a vinyl ether group with a fullerene derivative having a hydrogen atom or a hydroxy group to introduce a vinyl ether group. In formula (A), X and Y each independently represents a 1-20C organic group or a hydrogen atom, provided that the fullerene skeleton may have another optional substituent.
