Abstract:

To enable to obtain antiallergic components such as methylcatechin or stryctinine stably and in a good efficiency, and thereby enabling the production of food raw materials containing much antiallergic components stably and in a good efficiency.

A method for obtaining methylcatechin which is the antiallergic component, in a good efficiency is provided by producing a food raw material by using tea obtained by removing stem parts containing less methylcatechin from the tea leaves of Assam mixed breeds/Chinese varieties/Taiwan series such as "Benifuuki", "Benifuji", "Benihomare", "Okumidori", "Kanayamidori", "Surugawase", "Benihikari", "Yamakai", "Yutakamidori", "Seisindaipan", "Seisin oolong", "Ohba oolong", "Yaeho". In order to obtain much stryctinine, primary new tea leaves are used.
