Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sealing structure capable of sealing gas generated from a contaminated soil existing underground, in the contaminated soil.SOLUTION: A sealing structure for sealing gas generated from a contaminated soil 10 which is surrounded by a water blocking wall 11 reaching a water impermeable layer, comprises: a bentonite mixed soil layer 12 disposed above the contaminated soil 10; a retained water layer 13 in which water is retained, and disposed above the bentonite mixed soil layer; and a non-contaminated soil layer 14 disposed above the retained water layer. The water retained on the retained water layer 13 permeates the bentonite mixed soil layer 12 and seals voids existing in the bentonite mixed soil layer 12, thereby reducing a coefficient of gas permeability and sealing the gas.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
