PURPOSE: To obtain the title composition having excellent heat stability in injection molding and excellent flame retardancy, by mixing a polyethylene terephthalate resin with glass fibers, a flame retardant, and an Sb compound having a specified mean particle diameter.
CONSTITUTION: 100pts.wt. polyethylene terephthalate resin (A) having an intrinsic viscosity [in a 50W50(wt.) phenol/tetrachloroethane mixture at 30°C] of 0.5 or higher is mixed with 10W120pts.wt. glass fibers (B) surface treated if required, which will be broken into lengths ranging from 0.02 to 2mm in the composition to be obtained, 15W35pts.wt. flame retardant (C) comprising an organic halogen compound or a phosphorus compound, 1.5W10pts.wt. Sb compound (D) (e.g., Sb2O3) having a mean particle diameter of 3.5W8μm, preferably 4W7μm, and if necessary, a crystallization accelerator in an amount of 3W10pts.wt., an antioxidant, a mold release agent, a lubricant, etc. (E).
