Title:
GOLD POWDER AND PRODUCTION THEREOF
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04147902
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce gold powder for alloy-gold clay suitable for use as a molding material by preparing gold powder composed of coarse particles and fine particles stuck to the surfaces of the coarse particles.

CONSTITUTION: An aq. AuCl3 soln. is mixed with an aq. K2SO4 soln. at -10 to +5°C and electrolytic refining is carried out to produce gold powder 1 of about 10-100μm particle size with stuck fine particles of about 0.1-1μm particle size. The pref. average particle size of the powder 1 is about 10μm. The gold powder 1 is mixed with powder 2 of an alloy of other noble metals in about 75:25 ratio to obtain noble metal powder of about ≤200μm mean particle size and alloy-gold clay suitable for use as a molding material for artistic handicrafts, etc., is obtd. by mixing the noble metal powder with a water-soluble cellulosic binder, a surfactant, oil and fat.
