Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf club comprising a large head and a thick shaft. SOLUTION: The capacity of a wood club head 9 is 225 cc or greater. The tip of a shaft 10 joined to the head has a diameter larger than about 9.40 mm (0.370 inch). An extrusion 11 is formed on the head 9. A joining plane P is formed on the shaft 10, which is joined to the extrusion 11. When the shaft 10 is mounted to the extrusion 11, the tip diameter TD of the shaft 10 measured on the joining plane P presenting at the upmost point UP of the extrusion 11 is set to be smaller than the diameters D1, D2 of the shaft 10, which are diameters of the taper portion of the shaft 10.
