PURPOSE: To obtain a graphic editor device capable of preventing the setting of an attribute from being forgotton and having an excellent man-machine interface.

CONSTITUTION: While observing an operation menu or a graphic displayed on the screen of a graphic terminal 11, a CCD designer operates an object such as a line or a point to edit a graphic. A menu forming/processing part 23 inquires an attrribute for the selected object to an attribute data base part 12, judges whether the attribute can be set up or not based upon a response, displays an operation menu including an attribute setting item when the setting is possible, or displays an operation menu including no attribute setting item when the setting is impossible, and informs the validity/invalidity of attribute setting to the designer. Thereby the setting of attribute can be prevented from being forgotton. Since unnecessary menues or items are not displayed, the graphic editor device excellent in the man-machine interface can be obtained. When the attribute data base 12 is separated from an edition means, the device can flexibly correspond to the addition of a simulator function.
