Abstract:
To provide a grinding device that can detect occurrence of abnormality such as wear of a contactor that contacts a work-piece, by detecting a state of a rest device that supports the work-piece.SOLUTION: A grinding device 100, which grinds a camshaft 8 as a work-piece with a grindstone 2 while rotating the camshaft, comprises a rest device 6 that supports the camshaft 8 so that deflection of the camshaft 8 is suppressed during grinding with the grindstone 2, and a control part 7 that controls the rest device 6. The rest device 6 has: a first contactor 617 having a contact surface 617a that contacts the camshaft 8; a first actuation member 616 mounted with the first contactor 617; a first servo motor 612 that actuates the first actuation member 616; and a heat-flow sensor 64 that detects heat generated by sliding the first contactor 617 and the camshaft 8. The control part 7 detects occurrence of abnormality on the basis of a detected value detected by the heat-flow sensor 64.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
