PURPOSE: To feed material in the form of band or wire surely and smoothly in the specified positioning and direction without contact with or biting into the transport line by making the interior walls of the inner transport line in cylindrical form and by rotating this wall surface around its own axis.

CONSTITUTION: The interior surfaces of the transport line of an intermediate guide 33 installed between a side trimmer and a scrap chopper for the purpose of feeding band or wire scrap 29 are formed in a cylindrical surface, and a spiral projection 40 is furnished on this cylindrical wall surface. Further, the intermediate guide 33 is rotated around its axis by a motor 39 in the direction of arrow 40. To reduce the friction of the scrap 29 fed in this transport line in the direction of arrow 30 against the interior wall surface of the intermediate guide transport line. Thus the scrap 29 can be transported in the specified direction 30 without biting into the interior wall surfaces.
