PURPOSE: To improve the recognition rate of a graphic by correcting a curved part when an original straight line is changed to the curved part due to shaking of hand, etc.

CONSTITUTION: A coordinate detecting means 3 which detects a series of coordinate information inputted by a stylus pen 1 and a tablet 2, a classifying means 4 which classifies a coordinate string detected by the coordinate detecting means 3 to the straight line and a curve, a correction means 5 which corrects by disassembling the curve classified by the classifying means 4 to a circle and a circular arc, a storage means 6 which stores the information of graphic structure, a feature dictionary 8, and a recognizing means 7 which recognizes the graphic based on the information from the feature dictionary 8 and the storage means 6.
