Abstract:

To provide a head-mounted display capable of preventing the injury of a user and the damage of an image display unit.

In the head-mounted display including a head mount 1 to be mounted on the head of a user and an image generation unit 2 attached to the front side of the head mount 1 for making the user view images, the image generation unit 2 and the head mount 1 are connected by a locking means, and when an obstacle approaches the image generation unit 2 and a proximity sensor 4 detects it, an actuator cancels the connection of the locking means and thus the image generation unit 2 is made to fall off from the head mount 1.
