Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prepare the title compsn. having an enhanced heat resistance without adversely affecting the flexibiliy characteristic of a thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer by compounding a styrenic resin compsn. contg. a maleimide compd. with the thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer. CONSTITUTION:The title compsn. is prepd. by compounding 45-10wt.% sytrenic resin compsn. contg. a maleimide compd. as an essential component [pref. a styrenic resin compsn (e.g. a styrene-acylonitrile copolymer) contg. 10-45wt.% N-phenylmaleimide units] with 55-90wt.% thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer (e.g. one derived from a polyadipate). The compsn. has an enhanced heat resistance without adversely affecting flexibility characteristic of the thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer and is useful as the material of automotive interior and exterior trim parts, electronic and electric parts, etc.
