To provide a heat sensitive recording body excellent especially in resistance to light.
The heat sensitive recording body, provided with a heat sensitive recording layer, which contains the principal constituents of a colorless or light-colored basic colorless dye and an organic color developing agent, on a substrate, is characterized in a constitution that the recording body contains an ultraviolet ray absorbing monomer (a), a vinyl compound monomer (b), co-polymerizable with the monomer (a), a hydrophilic monomer (c) and at least one kind of aqueous emulsion type macromolecular ultraviolet ray absorbing agent consisting of an emulsified co-polymerized compound between a reactive emulsifiding agent (d) while containing at least one kind of benzoxadinon compound shown by a general formula (I). In the formula, R shows either one of a hydrogen atom, hydroxide group, an alkyl group having carbon number 1-8, an alkoxy group having carbon number 1-6, an acyl group having carbon number 1-6, an acyloxy group having carbon number 1-6, an alkoxycarbonyl group having carbon number 1-6, a carboxyl group, an halogen atom or a nitro group while X shows a bivalent group or direct coupling.
