Abstract:

To improve cooking performance and safety by accurately detecting the presence of a grill tray and the use or nonuse of an accessory grill tray and to secure the reliability of a detector.

The heating cooker includes a cooking chamber 1 in which a cooked object 5 is stored and heated, a grill tray 3 on which the cooked object 5 is placed and which is stored in the cooking chamber 1, a heating source 4 arranged in the vicinity of the cooking chamber 1 for heating the cooked object 5, and a grill door 2 arranged ahead the cooking chamber 1 for opening and closing the cooking chamber 1. An infrared proximity sensor 6 as a non-contact detection unit is arranged outside the cooking chamber 1 for detecting the presence of the grill tray 3.
