To provide a heating device which protects a coil and a body to be heated without damaging them, by providing an electromagnetic shield plate between the coil and the body in order to prevent an excessive temperature rise which occurs during an abnormal state, and to provide an image forming apparatus.

FIG. 1 is an equivalent circuit diagram showing a form employing the heating device and the image forming apparatus. FIG. 2 is a view schematically showing the cross-section of the structure. FIG. 3 is a perspective view showing the form. The main components of the heater and the image forming apparatus are a rectifying circuit 2, a resonance capacitor 3, a drive circuit 4, a switch 5, the body 6 to be heated, the electromagnetic shield plate 9, a control circuit 10, the coil 12, a core 13, and a current fuse 18.
